Seven Peaks Waterpark
Coming
up on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 we will be hosting the
annual Rubber Ducky Derby. Our ducks are all grown up as
they turn 21-years-old this year! For 21 long years the
Rubber Ducky Derby has been the grassroots fundraising event
for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah. Through the generosity
of our community this event has granted hundreds and hundreds
of wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
With
a suggested donation of only $5, individuals have the opportunity
to sponsor a rubber duck. All of the sponsored ducks, nearly
17,000 of them, will be raced in several heats at Seven
Peaks Water Park. The sponsor of the winning duck will win
a brand new 2009 Sport Red Chevy Aveo5 donated by Jerry
Seiner Dealerships. Jerry Seiner has graciously donated
a car every single year for the last 21 years! We also have
other great prizes available for our top ducks. You can
also sponsor a flock of ducks. Our flock sponsorships range
from $250 to $5,000! With every duck sponsored you will
receive a certificate with the number of the duck you are
sponsoring, a buy-one, get one ½ off coupon to Seven
Peaks and other coupons from our sponsors. You do NOT need
to be present to win.
This
year, since our ducks are all grown up, we will be having
a special “Grown-Up Duck” race. We will be racing
only 100 special large ducks for a donation of $100 per
duck. The odds of winning are greatly increased in this
small race. The winner of the race will win a fantastic
weekend getaway!
Also
at the Rubber Ducky Derby we will have our annual Wish Family
Reunion. Nearly 1,000 wish family members come to Seven
Peaks Water Park to watch the race, play in the water park,
enjoy lunch provided by Subway and participate in many other
fun activities!
