Ideas
for Duckies In The Workplace
Simple Advertising Campaigns
Put
posters, "Quack" signs or duck feet cut-outs in
high visibility places around your office, like your desk/cubicle,
in the elevator, at the front desk, in the lunch room, or
in your company's restrooms. Let them know they can contact
you to sponsor their ducky for a chance to win the 2008
Chevy Aveo 5 donated by Jerry Seiner Dealerships! With each
ducky sponsored, you also receive a coupon to Seven Peaks
Water Park.
Host a "Cheese and Quackers" Party!
Drum up interest for your Duckies in the Workplace campaign
by hosting a Cheese and Quackers party. This will work well
as a mid-morning or afternoon snack. Put it in a prominent
place, like a copy room, conference room, or lunch room,
with your ducky brochures close by. As people come for the
free food (which they always do!), take this opportunity
to tell them about the Derby and encourage them to sponsor
duckies.
Create Incentives for Sponsoring Duckies
Incentives don't always have to be tangible or expensive.
Some companies have been very creative about motivating
other employees to sponsor duckies. You could recruit your
CEO or manager's involvement, and if your department or
office reaches it's goal for ducky sponsorships, your manager
or CEO could do that department's job for an hour. You can
always create incentive by hosting a fun ducky party for
those sponsor duckies, serving all yellow food and inviting
our Rubber Ducky Derby mascot, Puddles, to make an appearance
at your celebration.
Use Food and Beverages to Attract Sponsors
A great idea is to sell a drink or treat in your office.
For example, one company had your run-of-the-mill standard
coffee in their break room. The Ducky Wrangler at this company
purchased some gourmet coffee and anyone who purchased a
ducky received a cup. This doesn't have to be done with
coffee - you could use bagels and cream cheese, donuts,
juices, candy, cookies - any kind of treat.
Lunch Money for Duckies
Encourage people to spend the money they would have on that
Big Mac, Whopper or Super Sized Combo meal on duckies instead!
Wranglers could supply something simple for lunch, like
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, lunchmeat and cheese
and rolls and those who buy a ducky can partake of the lunch
time festivities. This way, they give money for wishes,
and save a few inches on their waistline as well!
Dimes for Duckies
Have a jar for donations and encourage people in your workplace
to empty their pockets, car ashtrays and purses of all their
loose change, to help grant wishes for Utah wish kids.
