hat better way to capture the interest of our youth
than to allow them to create and manage a fund-raising project in effort to grant
a local child with a life-threatening medical condition?
The
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah's Kids For Wish Kids® program gives
schools and organizations throughout the state the opportunity to sponsor wishes
for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Kids
For Wish Kids is an extremely popular program for kids because it's managed by
kids! The program encourages leadership, teamwork, school spirit, and commitment
while working towards a common goal. Kids are responsible for coming up with ideas
and carrying them out, as well as marketing the event to fellow students to ensure
a successful program. Teachers and parents often serve as advisors, but ownership
of the project belongs solely to the kids involved.
As
a "Kids For Wish Kids" participating school, youth program, church group,
or club, you will receive:
- A brochure with "Kids For Wish Kids®"
fund-raising ideas
- Support from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah's Development
Department
- The opportunity to have a Make-A-Wish representative speak
at your school
- The story of the wish your school adopted
- Recognition
of your school's support in the Foundation's newsletter and annual report.
- The
opportunity to develop leadership skills in students
- A chance to make
dreams come true for Utah children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening
condition
