Ambassador
Shares the magic of the Make-A-Wish Foundation at a variety
of functions. We provide the information; wish ambassadors
provide the passion to tell our story to social and professional
groups, federal and state employee groups, and student groups,
to name a few. Best suits volunteers with flexible schedules
and a knack for public speaking and who have some prior
knowledge of or experience with the Foundation..
Wish
Apprentice
Joins
the wish-granting team to help with specific special assignments
relating to a childs wish. Finding a special gift,
planning magical decorations, or arranging a memorable send-off
are just a few of the assignments wish apprentices may take
on. Best suits youth volunteers between the ages of 16 and
18 with enthusiastic commitment and fantastic follow-through.

Assistant
Joins
our office staff team to help answer the telephone, stuff
envelopes, input computer data, or assist with special office
projects. Computer skills helpful. Best suits volunteers
with great customer service skills, an adaptable attitude,
and daytime availability.
Wish
Consultant
Assists
the Foundation by sharing a specific talent as needed. Wish
consultants may help with graphic design on publications,
photography at special events, or scrapbook designs for
completed wishes. Best suits volunteers with limited but
flexible time and significant expertise in a critical need
area.
Wish
Granter
Meets
with a wish child to discover, plan, and fulfill a wish.
Wish granters work in teams of two and use resources wisely
by seeking donated goods and services for each wish. Volunteers
commit their time to make the wish as unique as each child
and a lasting, memorable experience for each wish family.
Best suits volunteers over the age of 21 with creative energy,
entrepreneurial enthusiasm, and the ability to give freely
of their time.This position requires a one-year minimum
commitment.
Wish
Magician
Creates
a framework of magic through planning, organizing, and implementing
successful fund-raising events and fun family reunion activities.
Wish magicians may work on event committees, take on committee
leadership roles, or help out on the event day. Whatever
the role, wish magician volunteers can determine their own
level of involvement, allowing for great flexibility. Best
suits volunteers with creative determination, a passion
for people, and a commitment to getting the job done.
