Jacob's Disney Wish

Jacob is a happy, kind-hearted four-year-old. He has a contagious, positive attitude, even when at age two, he and his family learned that he had neuroblastoma. After chemotherapy, surgery, two bone marrow transplants and several rounds of radiation, Jacob's body is tumor free!

When Jacob learned he would be getting a wish, he knew just what he wanted—go to the Walt Disney World® Resort and meet Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Jacob and his family looked forward to this well-deserved vacation, where they could all spend time together, not worrying about the cost or his medical issues. They were able to focus on having fun as a family. And that's just what they did! They had a great time on the rides (especially the Buzz Lightyear one), swimming and more!

Shirley, Jacob's mom, explained what the trip meant to them. "It gave Jacob more excitement and energy. It took his mind off of all the medical issues he faced on a daily basis. It provided something special for the rest of us as well. It was something that we would have never been able to do for ourselves. We got to play together for a week and created memories that will last a lifetime…ones that we re-live regularly."

And that's exactly what a wish should be…a moment to cherish for "infinity and beyond!"
